Professionals in our practice work with clients whose life experiences have contributed to struggles with self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and blocked personal growth. All of the clinicians at Bick Wanck MD and Associates are licensed clinicians with years of experience. They are life-long students, constantly learning the latest approaches in wellness and treatment in order to better help you.

Our Staff

Psychiatrists are medical doctors (MD and DO) who went on to 4 years of specialty training after medical school. They evaluate emotional suffering and disturbed thinking and help it with psychotherapy and medicine.
Nurse Practitioners (NPP) can do anything a psychiatrist can do. They receive advanced training in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. They prescribe medicine and can do talk therapy.
Psychologists (PhD, PsyD, and EdD) are graduates of doctoral programs in psychology. They have had extensive training in various forms of psychotherapy and psychological testing.
Social Workers (LCSW-R) have master’s degrees and years of training. They are licensed and certified to do assessments and provide various types of psychotherapy and counseling.
Licensed Mental Health Clinicians (LMHC) have master’s degrees in psychology and have had years of training. They are licensed to do assessments and provide various types of psychotherapy and counseling.

Amy Anderson-Reid, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Saratoga, Rensselaer

Licensed mental health counselor with over 25 years experience providing mental health and substance use treatment.  She specializes in providing supportive therapy to assist in reaching personal goals and resolving emotional conflict.  Special areas of expertise include supporting those with chronic illness, helping people to adjust to transitions and addressing relationship concerns.  Also supporting those who are healing from companion animal loss.  Amy works with individuals and couples providing services from late teens to seniors.



Jane Root, LCSW-R

Social Worker – Saratoga

Licensed certified social worker. Extensive experience treating children, adolescents, adults & families in private practice and as a school social worker.  Specialties include anxiety, depression & personal growth across the life span.  Jane utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, family systems, and mindfulness based strategies.

Jeffrey Tabbert, DO

Jeffrey-Tabbert-DOLicensed psychiatrist.  Originally from Michigan.  Undergraduate at Adrian College.  Graduated medical school from Michigan State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Completed psychiatric residency at Albany Medical Center.  Adheres to his initial training and values of taking a holistic and biopsychosocial approach to his patients evaluation and treatment.



Jeanette Thornton, MD EdD

Jeanette Thornton, MD,EdDAddiction Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry

Dr. Thornton is board-certified in Addiction Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. She received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University. She has over 28 years of experience in addiction psychiatry and insight-oriented cognitive behavioral therapy and specializes in the treatment of Food Addiction Obesity. Also, she has authored four books, three on Food Addiction Obesity and one about her family’s triumph over societal stereotypes.

Melanie Howard, PMHNP-BC

Melanie Howard, PMHNP-BCMelanie Howard, NPP, is licensed by the State of New York as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and is Board certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.  She received undergraduate degrees in Nursing and Psychology from Russell Sage College and a Master’s of Science Degree and certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from the Sage Colleges.  Melanie has extensive experience working with adults in inpatient, outpatient, crisis intervention and deployed settings.  Melanie is an Afghanistan veteran-Lt Col (Ret) and she has worked with military members and families both here and overseas with PTSD related issues.



Susan Chalmers, PhD

Susan Chalmers, PhDLicensed child, adolescent, and adult psychologist. Doctorate in Clinical Psychology earned at the University of Albany, State University of New York. Psychotherapy from CBT, Mindfulness, and Interpersonal perspectives for treating anxiety, phobias, OCD, PTSD, bereavement, depression, stress, and in maneuvering through life’s transitions.

Better results are typically achieved by those who are willing and able to implement at home the strategies learned in session and complete homework assignments.



Maria Kuethe, PhD

Maria Keuthe, PhDLicensed psychologist. Provides psychological evaluation of adults and children. Individual, family and group therapy for all ages.

Supriya Blair, Psy.D.

Supriya Blair

Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Supriya has a diverse scope of experiences in the mental health field, including private practice, community mental health, and residential treatment settings. She specializes in mind-body-spirit care. Supriya emphasizes individual strengths in session that help lead to growth and a greater sense of holistic wellbeing. She collaborates with you throughout your work, combining mindfulness, psychodynamic, and CBT practices. She believes the therapeutic relationship is a rich experience for adults seeking wholehearted changes in their lives.

Kim Taormina, LMHC

Kim has over 20 years experience treating individuals and couples in the mental health and personal growth field. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, women’s issues, and couples counseling. Because she is also a trained yoga and meditation instructor, Kim is able to deliver mindfulness and stress reduction practices along with the therapeutic modalities of CBT, ACT, Thought Field Therapy, and EMDR in her client-centered therapy sessions.
